Tiles Selection

Weeks before our tiles selection appointment, I rocked up in the Tile Direct showroom to have an initial look. I took some photos of the standard tile range and discussed with the consultant what our options were.  We were only doing the wet areas... flooring for the main, alfresco and porch will be done post handover. So, choosing the floor and wall tiles shall be easy.

On the day of our appointment, it was straight-forward...took us less than an hour to complete the selections.  We had an idea ready before-hand, we knew what we liked. And with the help of the tile consultant, our decision was made solid. We just went for the simple and clean look for the bathroom. No upgrades made on the tiles.

Channeling my inner artistic self, I made a sketch of what our kitchen and bathroom might look like.  Photoshop is my friend. The drawing was not perfect - some of the alignments were wonky and the rendering was not polished. But that'll do.

Slab Completed

As promised by Elderton, concrete slab was poured and completed at the end of the week. That made us 3 weeks ahead of the schedule from the construction diagram.

As we wait for a 1 week concrete curing time, we'll expect an email for a slab claim. As instructed by our broker, once we receive the first invoice, we have to sign and pass it to him.  They will arrange the payment to the builder.

Porch / Study Room

Alfresco

Theatre / Rainwater tank

They say that coins bring luck and good fortune.  We prepared something from places we call home - Australia, Singapore, and Philippines.  Unfortunately, we were not at the site when the slab was poured. So I just chucked them in the soil instead. LOL

Building Variation (BV001)

First it was the Variation, then the Post-Contract Variation, and then Building Variation..  When will this end?

Well, basically there was a stuff-up in the garage door color selection. Apparently, our selected "Golden Oak" was not available in the woodgrain texture range. So I met with Michelle and this was sorted out easy.  We have now selected "Caoba Dawn".  Solid choice.  Done.  BV001 signed and returned.

Drainage

Nice to see that the works were progressing well. Drainage was done today. Pods and reinforcements were delivered.  Good thing our neighbors were not yet building.  So the deliveries were just chucked on the adjacent lands. Lol.

Piering and Formwork

One and a half weeks from start of construction, happy to see some progress today.  They started the piering and the formwork.

Elderton is scheduled to pour the slab by the end of this week.  The following days shall be hell for the guys, they have to complete the drainage, waffle pods, reinforcements and termite barrier... plus a couple of piering and reinforcement inspections. Trusting a good weather for the rest of the week for us.
