I had set-up a meeting with the area manager today. We had a quick walk-around at the construction site. It was great to talk to him today as he knew all the knick-knacks in building a house. Judging by the number of calls during our meeting, I could tell that he was an extremely busy man. I bet the housing industry pays him the big bucks.
We will have a crappy weather for the rest of the week. But the schedule remains intact, that is, the scaffolding and extra bricks were set to arrive this week. Subsequently, brick layers to start the first floor the next day or two. If they start the first floor before the week ends, then we're laughing. Site works should continue even on a gloomy overcast weather. If it pours, it will be a different story.
Further down the track, there is a high chance that the gyprock plasterboard walls won't be installed before Christmas break. We're looking at a 6 weeks timeframe which will not cut it. Consequently, electrical wiring won't be installed as electrical wires and other items are likely to be pinched during the holiday break.
Look, we're on cloud nine at the moment. Our construction -at this point in time- has no delays (yet). Suffice to say, we are really satisfied how Elderton Homes handles our home construction.
